Location: Leicester, UK 

Position Type: Full‑Time, Permanent 

Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts

  • Week 1: 06:00 – 14:00 (Monday to Friday)
  • Week 2: 14:00 – 22:00 (Monday to Friday)

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Flexographic Printer at our Leicester site. This role is ideal for someone looking to start or develop a career in print and manufacturing, with full training provided.

 

The Role

 

As a Trainee Flexographic Printer, you will work alongside experienced printers and receive hands‑on training to learn how to operate modern flexographic printing presses, including 10‑colour narrow web servo‑driven machines.

You will gradually develop the skills required to prepare presses for print runs, monitor quality, and assist with troubleshooting, all while working to high safety and quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities (with training and support)

  • Assist with the set‑up and operation of flexographic printing machines
  • Learn how to prepare presses for printing and support fault‑finding during runs
  • Help monitor print quality and ensure required operating levels are met
  • Support ink and solvent preparation in line with materials being printed and work orders
  • Work towards achieving production speeds and setting time targets
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes and reduce downtime
  • Work closely with the Production Manager to support efficient machine utilisation and minimise waste
  • Follow all Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures within the Print Department
  • Maintain accurate records as required
  • Adhere to health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Support colleagues and contribute to strong teamwork and communication

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • A strong interest in print, manufacturing, or production environments
  • Ability and willingness to learn technical machinery and processes
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A positive, reliable, and team‑focused attitude

Desirable (not essential)

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Any exposure to flexographic printing

Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
