The company has an opportunity for an experienced Ink Tech at our site in Telford. 

 

Location: Telford 

Position type: Part-time 

Working Hours: 24 hours per week 06.00 – 18.00 Saturday and Sunday   

 

Role Overview   

 

The role encompasses the mixing of flexo printing inks, ensuring that Inks are ready for designs that are ready to print and mixed to the customer specification in accordance to Reflex tolerances. To co-ordinate and manage the safe operation of the Ink area and ensuring all best practices are adhered too. Also to organise ancillary products/equipment to provide a well organised and safe place of work including the distribution of all Inks and Ink equipment ready for use 

 

Roles and Responsibilities   

 

  • Ensure health & safety requirements within the departments are adhered to at all times. 

  • To ensure that all Ink personnel are operating in a safe manner 

  • To be responsible for the mixing and delivery of inks to the presses 

  • To minimise downtime and waste within the print department departments, by ensuring the Inks are mixed correct and to the correct tolerance. 

  • To develop the efficiency of the ink department performance by effective trouble shooting and implementing improvements using CI techniques. 

  • To be responsible for the consumable items used within the Ink department, Ink/solvent/buckets/spectro. 

  • The effective filling of all ink samples into the correct locations and to be booked into the Rexon system with file number locations 

  • To reduce the returns and use away returns to the best of your ability utilising the supplied software 

  • Take due care and attention of equipment and resources with particular regard to Health & Safety, hygiene, good housekeeping and basic maintenance. 

  • To ensure that Health, Safety and Hygiene procedures are followed at all times, including compliance with BRC criteria. 

  • Carry out effective shift handovers to ensure continued quality and avoid unnecessary downtime issues 

  • Ensure presses are constantly optimised by making sure all plates are mounted ready for the changeover.
